Blog Rush, What does it have to do with Moms?

By Cindy | September 20, 2007

I’ve read many reviews about Blog Rush. It’s so new, that no one really knows what it’s going to do to the blogging world. There are tons of theories and ideas, and the product has only been available for one week. Are blogging moms going to benefit from Blog Rush? We certainly can. The amazing network of moms on the internet has blown me away. Blogs written by moms working at home, moms sharing their life stories, moms homeschooling, moms budgeting, moms supporting each other in their quest to lose weight and exercise, and the list goes on, are numerous and informative. With Blog Rush, we can assist each other in opening up paths to share our stories and discoveries.

What is Blog Rush? It’s a widget you place on your sidebar in your blog. The widget automatically filters other blogs to coordinate with your blog subject matter. Therefore, you are opened to a new source of blogs that relate to your site.

How do you benefit? Your blog is included in the filtering system. Your material is exposed to other readers. I’m not the technical muse. Blog Rush helps in traffic generation. It’s not going to bring an explosion of traffic, but any extra can’t hurt right?

Why do I mention Blog Rush? First of all, it’s free. It was easy to sign up and I didn’t feel threated by the program. Plus, it’s based on a generation scheme which means, for each person that signs up with Blog Rush through referral, I can then “earn syndication credits based on their traffic and their referrals.” The same will happen for you when you sign up. When you write and discuss the benefits of Blog Rush, you’ll be able to apply your Referral Code on your blog or in an invite and improve your blog post’s chances for syndication.

I joined it a few days after it opened, and so far the jury is out on how effective it is. I’ve gotten 1 click in about 10,000 impressions, and just now I saw one of my own articles displayed to me on my own site, which seems a bit silly, especially since it happened to line up perfectly with the article it was referencing. I found that humorous.

I’ll be leaving it up for another week or two to see how well they improve things. They are about to offer different colors for the widget, though, which is nice.
