Body Control Journal Entries: Why share?

By Cindy | December 14, 2007

My fitness journey is a process to becoming more healthy and fit for a lifetime. The books that I read to improve and develop mentally, physically and emotionally help pave the way to success. My personal development grows with the questions and reflections posed throughout Body Clutter: Love Your Body, Love Yourself. Marla and Leanne provide hard, important questions that need to be answered to make us grow. They help me confront my household cleaning methods. I’ve used their system for the past 3 years and still consider myself a flybaby. I want to share this journey with you. I believe it is going to help me with my weakness for food. I need to view food differently. I like to exercise and workout. I work hard to make sure that I allow time to do so. What I am faced with is overindulgence with food. I love fattening foods. My sweet tooth wins most days out of the week. I eat large portions at meals. I don’t snack often, but I find myself looking for something when the kiddo’s go to sleep. I am consuming too many calories that are high in fat and empty in nutrients. I’m defeating the work that I put into exercise.

When I started this fitness journey, I thought I would be able to solve my weight through exercise. I’ve increased my level of fitness. I am stronger. I’m no longer huffing and puffing in the first mile of a run. I am able to do more pushups and squats with ease. However, my scale has barely budged. Why??? My diet. I know that I’ve lost a couple of inches and that muscle is compensating for some of my stagnant weight, but overall, my body composition is still above acceptable fat ranges. I must make changes to my eating habits to see the compound results of fitness and a nutritious diet.

My Body Clutter Journal Entries reflect my mental journey to achieve a healthy lifestyle with food and exercise.
