Conversational Chatter on Blogging Stats
By Cindy | July 11, 2008
From the more technical side of the house, I’ve compiled a list of blogging stats with the direction provided by taking the Blog Mastermind course. I’m still checking off boxes for tasks given and applying methods taught from the 27 lessons that were sent out weekly.
I approach blogging from a business perspective. My goal is to develop a product or service that will be beneficial to establishing and living a healthy lifestyle. Blogging is a low cost way to establish expertise in an evolving industry, be home for my family and enjoy interacting with people through a virtual capacity.
I am still in the readership development stage, but eventually, I would like to see the blog turn a profit. The business of blogging is quite complex and I still don’t understand all the nuances of the trade. Decoding jargon, figuring out html, reading behind the stats, and acting on SEO (Search Engine Optimization) are all stumbling blocks that I currently face.
Blog Mastermind claims that Blogging can be profitable with a couple of hours work? It’s still hard for me to see, but like all businesses the first year is one of tons of learning and lots of trial and error. It will be nice to see a small profit. I like challenges though and do hope to make a little over time.
For those already established in a business, Blog Mastermind is an excellent course to consider to develop your blog and see immediate results. For those of you just thinking about blogging or very tight on money, I highly recommend reading the Blog Profits Blueprint (free), visiting BecomeABlogger.com (free video presentations), Entrepreneurs-Journey.com and Problogger before considering investing in the Course. Blog Mastermind is set to open it’s doors in a few weeks, so there’s time to consider options and assimilate all this great free information!

Because I was provided the opportunity to develop and build this blog as an internship for Blogging Expertise, now Findable Blogs, the course, web hosting and design were free for me with a percentage split agreement made for profits. Much of the site optimization, behind the scenes, and search engine optimization has been successful due to Sarah’s technical setup of Go Workout Mom. Without her tweaking and blog setup knowledge, I don’t know when Google would have found me!
- Total Income: $223.93
- Total Expenses: $245.62
- Deficit of 21.69
Well, that’s all for now. I am still new to blogging and hope to build upon the foundation that was created this year to bring you consistent quality content.

a couple hours of work, huh? LOL! Ok, I learned that blogging is very rewarding but also can become an obsession/time sucker. There is just so much to learn/do/see and not enough time in my day.
Just with fitness and health, it’s all about a balance.
one that I am still learning, since I stay up way too late to do “just one more thing!”
This year I’ve learned that I need to take a healthier approach to blogging and not worry so much about having something go live every day. Perhaps I’m a bit more established and don’t need that, but my site traffic hasn’t suffered for posting less and it is a lot easier to fit in all my other projects this way.
First, congratulations on one year of blogging!
Wow — your stats look great. Keep it up! Since I only recently started blogging I’ve learned too much to list so far this year. It has been a great experience and I love the community!
I have learned it is important to blog about something your enjoy but just what you think others want to read.
I’ve learned:
- that readers are compassionate and won’t disappear if you take some time off!
- that I have MUCH to learn about blogging, but that it seems worthwhile to take the time to learn about it (thanks for all the great links and resources!)
- that it is okay if I get things going by taking baby steps
- that there are some amazing people out there who blog (which is how it sometimes becomes the time sucker some other fans of yours have mentioned)!
I’ve learned that you need to find a niche that readers will enjoy reading about. And once they do, you can start to have a nice community. Plus, there are lots of nice bloggers out there and we all love giveaways!
What a fascinating post. Keep up the good work!
