Go Workout Mom Turns One
By Cindy | July 4, 2008
My blogging baby, Go Workout Mom, is one year old! I love planning One Year Old Parties. Yes, I am the mom that has a birthday party checklist, themed decorations, bakes the cake, decorates it, and plans a feast for a king even when our babies could barely walk. I love celebrating life’s milestones.
I’m sharing the year’s successes by hosting a week long party for all my virtual friends and blogosphere buddies to partake in the festivities and reflect on your own Fitness Journey Successes, too!
We all have a journey filled with positive memories. Sure, we have our ups and downs, but one of the many ways to reflect on those successes is to join the party and share. Taking a moment to look back on the year, I’m sure that you’re going to relate and remember what makes life so special.
Here’s this week’s line up:
- July 4th: Welcome with Thanks to a Happy 1st Birthday
- July 5th: Sharing First Time Milestones
- July 6th: Reflecting on a Year
- July 7th: Music & Games
- July 8th: Cake and Toppers
- July 9th: Gifts Given and Received
- July 10th: Conversation Chatter on Blogging Stats
- July 11th: Looking Ahead to the Future
Of course, all birthdays need party favors, so check back often for the daily Party Favor Prize! All party favors will be announced at the end of the week on July 11th, so you have all week long to comment and enter for a prize. Let’s Celebrate!!!
Giving Thanks
When I created Go Workout Mom, I knew very little about blogging. I am grateful to Sarah Lewis of Blogging Expertise (now FindableBlogs) and Yaro Stark of Blog Mastermind for making this opportunity possible. Through the simple and thorough lessons provided by Blog MasterMind (which is opening it’s doors soon!) and Sarah’s hosting and technical knowledge, I have discovered the complexities and challenges of maintaining a multi-media blog. I am by no means an expert and have many tasks that need fine tuning, but with time, I will continue to develop and nurture Go Workout Mom.
Without my husband and children, Go Workout Mom would not have flourished. Ryan has been invaluable as he played with the little ones and gave me space to develop the blog. My children have participated and enjoyed “exercising with mommy.” They love moving and it’s been a blast sharing my fitness journey with the family.
For my readers and commentors, I appreciate your continued support and involvement. Without you, I’d feel rather alone in this journey. Thank you for sharing your goals, thoughts and ideas. You are the strength of Go Workout Mom!

Hello Janet–What a wonderful friend and fantastic loss. Keep up the great work.
Hi Rachel–Blogging has been a great stress reliever for me too. Sometimes it becomes a source of stress, but when I step back, I realize how much it has helped me in this fitness journey. I doubt that I would be working as a Personal Trainer in a gym without having created GWM.
Thanks Banu, I have been impressed with the quality of work from Blog Mastermind. I’m no where near reaching the claims of making thousands a month on two hours a day, but I have learned a ton about the technicalities and complexities of blogging.
Happy Fourth of July and Happy First Blog Birthday!
What a milestone. I think it takes a lot of fortitude to do a blog site and keep it current and effective like your do! I want to thank you and your blog for giving me the motivation to begin caring more about myself. I enjoy reading the other members
goals and accomplishments. Then, my husband and two sons are so helpful in every way. I hope you have many more happy and healthy blog birthdays! Thanks, Cindi
Happy 1st b-day Go Workout Mom! And Happy 4th of July, Cindy. I took a cue from you and made my own post about who I’m thankful for in my weight loss and fitness journey so I linked my name here to the post if anyone would care to read it.
I basically thanked my hubby, my online weight loss/fitness buddies and a few of my class instructors at the gym.
Thanks for all you do on this great blog Cindy.

Happy One year! Mine was a few months ago. I love your blog! I will be back!
My neighbor has been my jogging partner for the last year…definately keeps me off my butt.
Happy Birthday! What a wonderful accomplishment! I am hoping that I can gain some motivation to get healthy and lose weight!
Happy Anniversary!
I’m not commenting to win the prize (although I love the Yankee Candle line *G*). I really just wanted to wish you a happy anniversary and to let you know that I enjoy reading your blog!
Wishing you another great year…
In my fitness journey, I’d like to thank my friend Cindy who has been my faithful walking companion for 15 months now! Through two springs, a summer, fall and winter we’ve tackled those 2 miles three times a week as faithfully as we possibly can. I appreciate that a lot!
Happy Anniversary and thanks for the chance to win!
Happy birthday to your blog! May you have many many more successful years!
For my blogging adventures, I have to give a lot of thanks to my husband. He has helped with a lot of the back end computer stuff - knowledge of which I am sorely lacking (but am learning more little by little).
Congratulations on your one year of blogging. I won’t get there until March, 2009. I have to thank Jim at Blogging Startup and Revka at designs by rs. I was totally clueless at to how to even begin with the mechanics of a blog. Jim gave me great advice and got me started. Then Revka came along and gave me my generic WordPress theme a new look that really gave me the image of where I wanted to be with my blog. Thank you both for your generosity of time and advice.
My sister is my rock in the fitness journey. As for blogging, I got inspired by so many bloggers it would be impossible to name them all here. But I am now inspiring my sister to start a blog. She has never blogged before. Thanks so much for the opportunity.
Please enter me in the contest.
Congratulations!! Turning one is no small feat!
Who do I want to thank? All of the other bloggers who support me in my weight loss journey!
Congrats on one year, I really enjoy this blog!
I want to thank my friend for being supportive of both blogging & exercising!
Definitely my hubs. I would like to thank him because he’s been a great supporter and cheerleader in helping and motivating me in yoga, swimming, and squash!
Congrats on your 1st B-day! Have to thank my hubby on working out, one of the few things we really enjoy doing together! Well, that sounds kind of bad but we just have different interests and working out together we get to spend quality time together in our busy lives! I’m new to blogging so I’m still trying to feel my way around in the bloggy world!
Congratulations! My sister keeps me motivated.
My daughter has been a real inspiration to me. Her commitment to a healthy lifestyle has completely rubbed off on me and keeps me going.
I’m fairly new to blogging and it’s been so much fun and so rewarding!! I would have to thank all of my fellow mama bloggers out there! I have learned so much from them and shared lots of ideas and information!
I’m a week late, but Happy Birthday!
