Happy First Day of Spring and Contest Winners

By Cindy | March 20, 2008

What a beautiful day here in Tennessee to welcome Spring. We had a small Easter Egg Hunt and let the kiddo’s play in the park. Our vegetable seedlings have been planted and the sun is shining down on us with 60 degree weather! Tomorrow it’s suppose to be in the 70s!

I’d love to hop around my yard, but I think I’ll wait a few more months. Before cooking dinner, I spent most of my evening breaking off 30 to 40 pound chunks of ice from the driveway and shotputting it over the 6 foot snowbanks to melt somewhere else. I managed to get one huge chunk, but couldn’t get it away from the ground and had to break it into 3 pieces, the largest of which was probably about 50 pounds. It’s only 3 inches thick, so it was pretty large area wise and very unwieldy.

Sorry, Blaine. I only got a few of the New Englander Springs under my belt and Rhode Island was as far as I ever got. I definitely blanked those days out of my memory. Sounds like you got a great workout in though!

Thanks for the great giveaway. What a great way to celebrate the beginning of spring with chocolate. We have snow here and it is sticking around! I hope it goes away soon
