Housecleaning Workout Tip: Fall Season Curtain Round Up

By Cindy | November 1, 2007

housecleaning.jpgWhen have you last cleaned those curtains? I know it’s something that I ignore and ignore. The only reason why I’m writing about it now is because we’re in the process of selling our home and moving. My goal is to make the curtain round up a yearly routine. In doing so, there is no reason why we can’t incorporate an exercise advantage to the chore. In what ways can we physically exert ourselves???

  • Lugging around the step stool or chair to reach the curtain rods. Hold the step stool or chair with arms parallel to the floor, elbows bent and tucked into your sides.
  • Depending on your curtain material:
    • Washable Fabrics: Get your heart rate up going from window to window and drop those curtains into the laundry.
    • Blinds: Dusting speed session. Get those dust particles off those blinds. Follow up with a touch of Pledge to keep dust at bay (for a little bit anyway)!
    • Steam Cleaner: Speed between windows. Focus on your arms and extension when you’re steaming the curtains. You’ll be surprised what you will feel in your arms as the heat rises.

There you have it. A house full of clean curtains for a year. Go Workout Mom!!!
