Housecleaning Workout Tip: Kitchen Clutter Cubbyhole
By Cindy | December 7, 2007
I have a small box hanging beside the refrigerator that serves as the kitchen clutter cubbyhole. It’s my last minute toss of things I don’t want to deal with right now. Do you have a drawer or shelf that you’re avoiding in the kitchen? Here’s a chance to clean it out and add a great exercise for your obliques (located on your sides). Here’s what you do:
1.Stand comfortably with your legs shoulder width apart.
2.No slouching allowed! Push your shoulders slightly back to maintain good posture.
3.Think of your side as an accordion. Deliberately, compress your shoulders toward your hips and exhale.
4.Inhale as you return to a standing position.
5.Complete a set to one side and then shift to the other side.
Continue organizing your clutter cubbyhole. This move is subtle, but perfect to focus on the obliques. The movement doesn’t need to be large to be effective.

I’ll have to try this!
I usually manage to get a fair amount of exercise by wandering all over the house trying to figure out which little clutter drawer, clutter cabinet, clutter cubbyhole, or clutter closet I’ve put something in.
It’s nice being a space cadet–being disorganized burns quite a few extra calories!

Chuckle, Chuckle! I do this all the time with the keys and they address list and stamps. You’re right.
