Housecleaning Workout Tip: Seasonal Clothes Swap

By Cindy | October 22, 2007

housecleaning.jpgIt’s right about the time to swap out your summer clothing for the winter jackets. If you’ve not divided your clothing by warm and cool seasons, I highly recommend you try it! It helps declutter your closet and forces you to sift through your wardrobe at least twice a year. Winter clothing is pretty heavy, so you’ll be able to get a great workout by pulling out those boxes and lugging them up to your room. Plus, you’ll get to return the boxes back to the garage, attic or basement filled with next season’s clothing. Here are a couple of ways to get a nice workout by combing through your clothes:

  1. Rev up the music and quickly sort through your clothes. Remember, if you didn’t wear it all season for the last year or two, then it’s time to go to charity or the trashcan.
  2. Run your tossed clothes to the trashcan, now! Don’t hesitate!
  3. Run your giveaway clothes to the car, now! No changing your mind!
  4. Lift and carry all your boxed clothes and stage them in the room.
  5. Hang and put away your new season’s clothes quickly to that jammin’ music. You’re done.

By combining your lifts, sprints and continued motion sorting through your clothes, you’ll have created a circuit style workout during your semi-annual clothing swap! Here’s to decluttering, working out and finishing up another housecleaning chore all-in-one session.
