It’s Never Too Late: A Podcast Interview with Amanda Young Nzambi on Pregnancy and Amerathon Club
By Cindy | April 5, 2008
Amanda Young Nzambi, daughter to the founders of Amerathon Club, shares a little of her fitness journey through pregnancy. She’s expecting in a few weeks! She shares her parent’s vision in their development of Amerathon Club, an online virtual fitness journey designed to take you across the United States by tracking your fitness through mileage.
The interview covers:
- Are you expecting a boy or girl?
- Is the Nursery ready?
- What was your fitness level prior to entering pregnancy?
- Did you enter pregnancy with specific workout goals?
- How did they change the realities of pregnancy set in?
- What were your workouts like?
- Did you have a favorite exercise during pregnancy?
- What was most challenging about the pregnancy?
- How did you handle your nutrition? Cravings?
- How Amerathon Club came to be? Hint: Mom’s know best!
- As a family challenge, who made it across country first?
- What is the story behind the Exercise Buddy?
- How do you see Amerathon Club helping families?
- Is there a general idea of when new routes will be made for the country?
- What features are currently available with Amerathon Club?
- What are some future plans for Amerathon Club?
- What advice would you share with moms that are pregnant?
Amanda points out the need to “go with the flow and do what you can.” Pregnancy is different for every woman and until you go through the stages of pregnancy, it’s impossible to know how you’re going to respond to different exercises and expectations. I love how she says, “It’s never too late to come back to goals and get back on track.”
Amerathon Club is a fun, interactive way to combine your fitness with motivation, goal setting, and journaling through a route that starts in New York and ends in California. Check out their site for details. I am currently trying Amerathon Club out and will have a through review up by the middle of the month.
