By Cindy | March 24, 2008

What is your goal in health, diet or exercise this week?

goal-call-monday.jpg

Goal Call Monday is your opportunity to be focused, accountable, and motivated to make your goal a success.

This week’s Winner is…Rachel of Fitness for Mommies. Congratulations! Your special reward this week is a Bath and Body Works Pear Blossom Body Splash (8 fl oz).

Ready to Share? It’s simple:

1. Enter your goal in the comments below (anytime during the week).

2. You’ll be listed in the Goal Call section next Monday. Enter your results/progress from the week to be entered in the drawing.

Why You Want to Participate:

Focus on your top one-week goal in health, diet or exercise.

Accountability is shared here in the comments and by coming back with the results.

Motivation will be provided through your desire to achieve your goal and return with good news or the challenges you faced. As an extra motivation, I’ll enter anyone who participates in a random drawing to receive a surprise reward (different prizes given each week).

Goal Call

How did you do? Did you accomplish your goal, get stuck, have a funny story to tell?

  • Blaine: Great job in the race. For your rest week of 50 miles :), what did you do with your free time?!
  • Susan: Way to get through those first few minutes of mind tricks to complete your 5 days of workouts! I look forward to hearing how this week continued with your dedicated focus.
  • MizFit: Ah, silence! Yes, 3 days of Yoga or meditation is a great gift to the body. Were you able to find peace?
  • Lynn: It’s wonderful to see how your energy is increasing. How did the extra walk on Saturday go? Looking at other ways to shake up your food intake and movement will see you past the plateau. You’re doing fantastic.
  • Rachel: Way to focus on the different muscles and pay attention to the back. Are you standing taller already?
  • MomWeightLoss: Did you live up to the workouts? What was your favorite activity this week?
  • CFO: Great job with the fruits and veggies. With spring coming, it’s a wonderful time to get all the fresh varieties. What’s your favorite?

I look forward to hearing how you did with your goals. A surprise reward will go to one of you for commenting on the results (good or bad)! Check in and report any time during the week before the next Goal Call Monday is posted! To see their original goals, click here and read the comments.

Last week was nice, only 1 run per day - quite a few workouts where I felt like I had a ton of energy. I wound up pushing my hill repeats to Saturday due to the wind on Friday, and the weekend was still very windy. It led to being a little sore after my long run yesterday.

This week I’m also going to stick to singles. I’ll be heading down to Atlanta on Thursday, taking a class so that I can get my coaching certification through the RRCA on Friday/Saturday, and running a marathon on Sunday.

My goal for the week will be to run an easy 3 hours in the marathon. Ideally, that will feel like a tempo run, and I’ll recover from it quickly so that I can keep training through until my May 4 goal marathon. If the weather or the day start to get the best of me, I need to remember to be smart and slow down since this isn’t a goal race.

Blech. This week was a wash for us, really. I missed Tuesday’s workout because my husband had the Mongolian Death Virus (again! I swear, that man is not staying healthy this year, but at least so far he hasn’t infected me and DD)…

I did my workouts for 5 days instead of six, and didn’t get that extra walk in this weekend that I’d meant to. HOWEVER, I did do a bit of running on Tuesday in small chunks, so that might have made up for it.

I bought my own copy of the Prevention Fitness: Get Moving dvd (I was renting it from Netflix) and I’ll go that again this week. I also got a new workout dvd from a friend T-Tapp, which I intend to watch and evaluate.

So, my goals for this week are pretty much the same as last week. Do core, get 6 workouts in, and 4 walks.

Happy Monday! My goal is to eat during the day! I am at home alone during the day and I don’t eat, then I don’t take my medications. It is the fact that I just don’t take the time! I drink water, but don’t eat and when I do, it is junk food. Please help. Many thanks,Cindi

I got in my 5 days of exercise this past week, as well. I was tempted not to exercise one day, but I thought, “I made a commitment and posted it on Goal Call Monday too, so ‘go workout Susan’!” ;)
It really does help when you post a goal for all to see - keeps you accountable!
My goal this week is to get back on my healthy eating routine since the big Easter dinner shook things up a bit. It’s a challenge for me to get back into a routine after I splurge!

This is great! My goal for this week is to workout three times. I’ve been such a slacker so I need to step it up slowly! ;)

I didn’t keep track (bad Cathy!) but I’m pretty sure I didn’t meet my goal last week, although I ate better than I usually do. I’ve been eating a lot of strawberries lately - they were my favorite fruit when I was a kid, but I don’t know that I have a favorite anymore. Fortunately, I have broader tastes now than when I was a kid too!

This week, I will do five sessions of cardio and two sessions of yoga. As I mentioned over at CFO, I’m making time to work out now, even though it cuts to other activities (mostly blogging, I’m afraid). My sessions are pretty short (about 20 minutes) but I am thinking that it’s more important to work out every day and establish that habit. Plus short workouts will help me to prevent burnout or injury.

Hopefully can test the running out this week! My goal is to continue with either yoga or pilates everyday to strengthen the back muscles. Thanks for the weekly check in.

I’m jumping in here nervously, as I am at the beginning of my fitness journey. This week I am doing 5 days of ab workouts to combat mommy tummy and 3 interval walking workouts for cardio. At my current level, that’s a lot, but you have to start somewhere. Right? :)

Coolmom - that sounds like a great way to start, and is well more than most do.

Great goals! We have food tracking, running, days, intervals, and abs. What a week. All goals are equally important to the person focused on their potential, CoolMom. No need to feel nervous here.

I’m late checking in, but my main goal is to swim once in the pool this week and track my food intake with numbers and food groups at least 4 days.
