Goal Call Monday is your opportunity to be focused, accountable, and motivated to make your goal of the week a success.

Eight contestants are up for the drawing this week. How did you do? Did you accomplish your goal, get stuck, have a funny story to tell? Blaine, I know you went snow running on Sunday. Did that get you the 50 miles? Nap, vacationing in FL!!! How did the runs go? Workout Mommy had broccoli cereal! Did you eat Kashi everyday? If you ate out at all Mindy, where did you go? CFO, what was your activity for the week? Have the poinsettias, lights and Christmas Tree made their way out your door, Domestic Divapalooza? Karen, I know you’re loving your video creations in digital scrap booking. How did the walks go? Debbie, I love how you’re tackling the world all at once. Did you get to smell one rose? Please tell, I need to hear from you before midnight on Monday, Jan. 7th, Central Time. A surprise reward will go to one of you for setting a goal and commenting on the results (good or bad)! To see their original goals, click here and read the comments.

Are you new to Goal Call Monday? No problem. Join in the fun. Here’s the deal:

1. Write you goal in the comments below. Don’t forget to be specific to measure success. You’re welcome to return every week and build upon your goals! One goal per person per week.

2. Feel free to motivate and encourage others.

3. In next week’s Goal Call Monday, share you accomplishments, challenges and failures (yes, this is the accountability part) and anything else you’d like to share with us about your goal.

4. If you jump in late in the week, adjust your goal to the number of days left!

5. To be considered for the drawing, enter your goal in the comments below, and enter your results in next week’s Goal Call Monday. Subscribe to my feed so that you don’t forget to leave your results. You’ll be reminded when Goal Call Monday pops up!

Here are the Reasons You Want to Participate:

Focus on your top one-week goal in health, diet or exercise.

Accountability is shared here in the comments and by coming back next week with the results.

Motivation will be provided through your desire to achieve your goal in a week and returning with good news or the challenges you faced. You’ll receive encouragement from everyone here. As an extra motivation, I’ll enter anyone who participates in a weekly, random drawing to receive a surprise reward.

Here’s mine: Last week my goal was to drink 8 glasses of water 4 out of the 7 days! I did. Every time I thought about water, I realized that I needed to drink. It was tough at first, but knowing that I was reporting results here made me concentrate all day long to drink, drink and drink. I drank 8 glasses 6 out of the 7 days.

This week, my goal is to incorporate 3 – 15 minute abdominal routines into my regular training.

It’s simple:

1. Enter your goal in the comments below.

2. Enter your results in next week’s Goal Call Monday.

Are you ready? What is your goal in health, diet or exercise this week?

I got my 4 walks in last week Cindy. But I slacked off over the weekend. Have to get back on the job again this week.

Well, I was happy with last week but I technically failed to meet my goal. I ran every workout that I had planned on, but my math was off by 5 miles and I was not going to add a 5 mile run to my schedule so I wound up running 45 miles last week. I skipped Monday, got an extra couple of miles from what I expected to on Tuesday, and ran what I expected on Wednesday and Friday. I tweaked my calf in the 5 degree temperatures during my run on Thursday, so I only ran for 25 minutes. Saturday I would have liked to run farther, but I got 9 fast miles in while attempting to get home before it got too dark (I did have reflective clothes and a flashing red light on my arm.) Sunday was perfect. I got a full 15 miles in, all but 3 of them in snow or on ice or both.

This week, I want to take advantage of the warm weather but given my constraint of lunch runs won’t be able to up my mileage too much. I’ll aim for the 50 mile mark, but my actual goal will be to find time to get to the indoor track for a speed session mid-week. With the warm weather we have, I should be able to get a good warm up and cool down outside and get some quality HIIT work done on the track. That’ll give me a chance to do a max heart rate test so that I can make some good assumptions for heart rate training later in the season.

I am proud to admit that I ate a green veggie every night this week!! Unfortunately, it was always broccoli (I need to expand my selections!) but I did it!

oops, I forgot to add my goal for this week. I will do some yoga-like stretching for at least 4 days this week. My muscles are so tight it is shameful!!

My goal turned out to be wonderful motivation (thanks, Cindy!). On Saturday afternoon, my wonderful husband took the kids out and gave me an hour to myself. So I hopped onto the treadmill and actually ran a mile. I’ve exercised so little that I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to run even that far anymore, and I wasn’t exactly speedy about it, but it was a relief and an accomplishment in one!

This week I want to exercise again (just sticking to once, though!).

my goal is going to be a challenge in my life but I am sticking to it….so far, so good. I got to sleep in, which did me a world of good. Next, I am going to devote my self to taking better care of my skin. I have psoriasis and since I have been so stressed lately, it’s really out of control. I am going to make the time to put on my cream so it won’t be so bad.

Way to go Karen!!! Keep it up.

Blaine, I’d say you got your extra mileage in just by running in snow and ice. That’s a challenge in it’s self. Way to stay positive and focus on what lies ahead. Enjoy your speed session. I look forward to hearing about it next week.

Lisa, doesn’t it feel great to achieve a victory in food choices?!

CFO, Speed doesn’t matter. It’s the small steps that matter. Congratulations. I look forward to hearing how your experience goes next week. Hugs and Cheering headed your way!!!

Debbie, What a great idea for this week. I’m terribly remiss about keeping lotion nearby and using it. Way to keep moving ahead!

Roni, You’re free to jump in at any time. One day goals are just as important as weekly, monthly and long term. Even with a couple of days, I’m sure there is something you would like to accomplish!
