Hi Nap, Stretches for your back and walking would probably work best. Definitely not worth running on to make matters worst in the future.

Hi Karen, Package has been sent. Way to keep walking! You have plenty of days left to get your 4 in. There's no need to beat yourself up!

Hi Workout Mommy, Your spinning classes sound like so much fun. Have fun adding the stretches into your day! I know you'll find the time.

Hi CFO, I'm so happy you're enjoying the workouts. That's what counts and will keep you going! Once you remember how good it feels, you'll not want to stop!

Cindy, I love that you've become my motivation coach! Thanks to my promise to you to work out this week, I found myself on the treadmill on Saturday night - the baby was asleep and my husband was doing books with our preschooler. It's funny how I get on there and think, "I forgot how good it feels to work out!"

This week I will do cardio once and yoga once. I need the yoga at least as much as the cardio, because I carry so much tension in my muscles! Thanks, Cindy!

I'm rapt to have won last week's prize Cindy. I started to slack off a bit this week and missed my walk this morning (no real reason just laziness). But this has given me a boost to get refocused again. Thanks a lot.

Ugh, I let myself down this week. I started teaching classes again this week, so I needed all the extra stretching, but I just didn't make the time. So, on that note, I'm carrying this one over for this week.

my goal is to set aside 10 minutes a day---for at least 4 days this week--to do some yoga like stretching.
My super tight hamstrings need this!!!

Ugh, I gotta get back on the horse...I hurt my back while going up the stairs with The Little Man (kiddos are gettin' heavy). Should I wait until it doesn't hurt any more to run? I tend to run through the pain...I know that is bad.

Hi Blaine, That fall didn't sound too pleasant. Glad to see you're okay. Good work with your mileage.

Here's my Update:

I was able to get two full 15 minute abdominal workouts in this past week, but I didn't get the last one done. It was more like a 5 minute balance ball routine.

My goal for this week is to not go over 4 desserts.

I got over to the track, but I wound up running with somebody that was already working out there rather than doing my own thing. While it was more fun, the intervals I ran didn't really get my heart rate up since the effort wasn't sustained enough.

Mileage for the week was going really well; had I gotten my planned weekend runs in I would have been right where I wanted to be. Unfortunately, 2 miles into Saturday's run I slipped on some rocks after summiting Bradbury Mountain and went down hard. Thankfully, the rocks got a good hold of my skin through my tights before I slid over the cliff edge. Not so thankfully, they got a hold of my skin through my tights...I still got another 10 or 11 miles in, and most of the pain was from the abrasions rather than the impact so I got out for yesterday's run. Rather than doing 10 or 12, though, I only ran 6 and a half - I had to go to the hardware store, and when I got back to drop off what I'd picked up I decided going back out for another 5 miles and instead stay home and eat. I still ran 48 or 49 miles, so that's fine.

Today we're getting 5 or 6 inches of snow, so I'll shovel rather than run today most likely. I'm home from work through Tuesday, so I'll aim at getting 8 to 12 miles in each day for the next three and then running normally Friday through Sunday. That will get me into the mid-50s.
