Cindy, without your motivation, I wouldn't have worked out at all the last three weeks! And I really had to squeeze both the cardio and the yoga in on Sunday, but I did it! I just couldn't face posting here that I didn't do it.

I'll keep the same goal for this week: cardio once and yoga once.

Wow, the rest of you are amazing!

Sorry, I don't mean to be a tough act to follow...if it makes you feel any better, I have friends that still run in the 80-100 miles per week ranges...

My goal to get 4 desserts or less this past week was not successful. I enjoyed a slice of cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory. Ah, I just can't pass it up. Then I made a German Chocolate cake for Ryan's Birthday and indulged four too many times over the week.

My goal for this week is to complete 3 strength training sessions. I completed one tonight, 2 more to go!

Great Job, Blaine. I offered the tip for music because I knew the gift certificate would cover the cost, but I love Amazon for the book selections at such a great price and many other things.

Workout Mommy, your goal is just as important! What is a hot yoga class? Sounds interesting. Great point about burning the midnight oil. I should make that my goal this week.

How did the week go for you Karen? I take it you're sticking to the 4 days a week walking? Way to make it a habit.

well, Blaine certainly makes a tough act to follow!

I didn't get to do 10 minutes of daily yoga but I did make myself go to a 90 minute hot yoga class--which was quite the experience!

this week, it is going to bed before midnight at least 3 times. I am a sleep deprived zombie!

I ran in the low 50s mileage-wise - Publishing my book meant that I didn't get to run on Thursday, so that meant two days off (I shoveled snow for 90 minutes on Monday instead of running.) I got my mileage back where it needed to be with 4 hours of running over the weekend - a 2 hour and 50 minute run through the snow and ice at Bradbury Mountain (about 18.5 miles) and then 75 minutes on the roads near my house (about 10 miles) yesterday. I also got a few miles of snowshoeing in yesterday afternoon before the football games. I put some screws into the bottom of my trail shoes, which gave me much better traction on the ice than I had had last week.

This week I'd like to crack 60 miles, since I will be using next week as a cutback week leading up to my first race of the season on Feb 3. I'm going to be too busy to get to the track for speed work, but I am going to try to get a few lunch time runs in and a few runs in the evening where I can get a few more miles in. If I can manage 30-35 miles during the week, then I should get into the 60s over the weekend without much trouble.

Thanks for the gift certificate, although I have to admit that its unlikely to be used for music. I'm paranoid about getting hit by a car again and try to minimize the distractions between me and traffic. I'm pretty comfortable inside my own head and enjoy running for the sake of running, which helps. I do read a lot, so I don't doubt that it will be put to good use! Heheh.
