It’s Time for Goal Call Monday

By Cindy | December 9, 2008

What is your goal in health, diet or exercise this week?

Goal Call Monday is your opportunity to be focused, accountable, and motivated to make your goal a success.

This week’s winner is…Shen-Li. Your special reward will be determined when we make contact!  Congratulations!

Ready to Share?

1. Enter your goal in the comments (anytime during the week).

2. You’ll be listed in the Goal Call section next Monday. Enter your results/progress to be entered in the drawing.

Why You Want to Participate:

Focus on your top one-week goal in health, diet or exercise.

Accountability is shared here in the comments and by coming back with the results.

Motivation will be provided through your desire to achieve your goal and return with good news or the challenges you faced.

As an extra motivation, I’ll enter anyone who participates in a random drawing to receive a surprise reward (different prizes given each week).

Goal Call

How did you do? Did you accomplish your goal, get stuck, have a funny story to tell? This week is filled with great accomplishments. Keep up the great work everyone. You’re doing fantastic.

  • Blaine:  40 to 80 miles depending on the calf muscle recovery.   21 miles for many of us is a goal of several months!  Great job.
  • Shen-Li: Three cardio sessions for the heart!
  • Anita Keep eating healthy (especially after the holiday weekend) & to keep my water intake up.
  • Asithi:  3 sessions of circuit training, approximately 30 minutes long.  A nice sore (without pain) day is a good feeling:)

I look forward to hearing how you did with your goals. Great job focusing on the small steps! A surprise reward will go to one of you for commenting on the results (good or bad)! Check in and report any time during the week before the next Goal Call Monday is posted! To see their original goals, click here and read the comments.

I ran around 66 miles last week and felt pretty good. I’ve been getting some good naps in the past 3 days; too bad there won’t be time for one today.

This week’s focus is mostly done. Last Saturday I got in 20 miles on the trails, and yesterday I got in 21 miles on the roads. Tomorrow I’d like to get in another 20-25 miles, which will make for 3 20+ mile runs in 3 days.

I’ll have to see what conditions are like tomorrow; we are getting a lot of snow today, so if the roads aren’t safe then I’ll have to make some screw shoes and hit the trails for my mileage.

This is my last heavy week before I start to taper for the 50 miler.

I’m going to change my goal for this week although I didn’t make it last week. I’d like to do some strength training with yoga DVDs. I just bought some new ones by a guy called Rodney Yee – don’t know if he’s good. The workouts look pretty challenging, so I’ll just try for two this week (in addition to my usual 3 x 20 min workouts). Wonder if anyone can recommend any other good yoga DVDs?

I did not reach my goal this week. Too much holiday stuff going on. A more realistic goal for me this week would be to squeeze in 2 30-minute workout sessions.

Last week, I did 5 workouts – mostly yoga – and my two sessions for strength training.

Tomorrow, I’m headed down under for Christmas with my parents so I’m not sure what I’ll be able to manage there. I won’t be back until New Year so I will have limited contact (my parents have very limited dial-up).

My Dad’s got a rower at home so I’ll try to get in a couple of sessions on that. I’m also bringing along a couple of yoga DVDs so I’ve really no excuse. I’ll report back after New Year how I’ve been doing.
