It’s Time for Goal Call Monday
By Cindy | February 25, 2008
What is your goal in health, diet or exercise this week?
Goal Call Monday is your opportunity to be focused, accountable, and motivated to make your goal a success.
The Winner from last week is…Rachel of Fitness for Mommies. Congratulations, Rachel! Way to work in those Running Core Routines. You’re doing a fantastic job and your special reward this week is Moisture-Rich Honeysuckle Body Lotion (8 fl oz) by Bath & Body Works.
Ready to Share? It’s simple:
1. Enter your goal in the comments below (anytime during the week).
2. Enter your results in next week’s Goal Call Monday to be entered in the drawing. You’ll be listed in the Goal Call section!
Why You Want to Participate:
Focus on your top one-week goal in health, diet or exercise.
Accountability is shared here in the comments and by coming back with the results.
Motivation will be provided through your desire to achieve your goal and return with good news or the challenges you faced. As an extra motivation, I’ll enter anyone who participates in a random drawing to receive a surprise reward (different prizes given each week).
Goal Call from Last Week
Four contestants are up for the drawing this week. How did you do? Did you accomplish your goal, get stuck, have a funny story to tell?
- Blaine: Continues to prepare for competitive racing. How did the speed session go?
- Lynn: Way to adapt when your DVD didn’t turn out to be what you had hoped. Were you able to get your third workout in?
- Rachel: The Running Core exercises are coming along for you. Were you able to increase your routine by one?
- CFO: I hope you’re feeling better. Colds are never fun. Are you feeling invigorated with the cardio and yoga routines?
I look forward to hearing how you did with your goals. A surprise reward will go to one of you for commenting on the results (good or bad)! Check in and report any time during the week before the next Goal Call Monday is posted!

I didn’t even attempt to run the hill repeats - the roads were too icy. I did get a tempo run the day before I was supposed to do hill repeats, since I didn’t think they’d be feasible. I also only ran 16 miles yesterday, rather than 20.
This week I’m giving up on trying to get speedwork in outside, and will attempt to get to the indoor track (hopefully tomorrow.) I’m also going to be doing the first 21 miles of a “Fat Ass” 50k next weekend, which should be fun. (”Fat Ass” races have the motto, “No Fee, No Awards, No Wimps” - they are usually low key affairs put on my ultramarathoners that are just looking to get together and have a good time. The entry requirements are usually limited to bringing food for the aid table that you are willing to share with everybody.)
Sick baby and no sleep for the past week, so my eating has been HORRIBLE!!!! Today that changes! My goal is to eat 2 servings of veggies with lunch and dinner.
Continue with Runnner-Core DVD’s and add 1 strength training session.
I’m starting a food journal this week to help me understand my body/food habits better so I can eat healthier and battle my sugar cravings!
I wish I could say I did great, but I only got my yoga session in (and barely, at that). Between PMS and the subsequent arrival of my period, I did not have a feel-good week, physically. But I’m optimistic that this week will be better. So I am setting the same goals for this week as last: one cardio and one yoga session each. Thanks, Cindy!
