It’s Time for Goal Call Monday

    By Cindy | December 31, 2007

With all the New Year’s Resolutions swirling around, I want to shift your thinking to this week. Yes, it’s a New Year and there are big plans ahead (for you and this site). I will post my New Year’s Resolutions tomorrow, but right now, I want to introduce you to Goal Call Monday. Focus, accountability, and motivation are wrapped into one with the new weekly Goal Call Mondays.

    Here’s the deal:

    1. Write you goal in the comments below. Don’t forget to be specific to measure success.

    2. Feel free to motivate and encourage others.

    3. In next week’s Goal Call Monday, share you accomplishments, challenges and failures (yes, this is the accountability part) and anything else you’d like to share with us about your goal.

    4. If you jump in late in the week, adjust your goal to the number of days left!

Here are the Reasons You Want to Participate:

Focus on your top one-week goal in health, diet or exercise.

Accountability is shared here in the comments and by coming back next week with the results.

Motivation will be provided through your desire to achieve your goal in a week and returning with good news or the challenges you faced. You’ll receive encouragement from everyone here. As an extra motivation, I’ll enter anyone who participates in a weekly, random drawing to receive a surprise reward.

Here’s mine: This week, I will drink 8 glasses of water 4 out of the 7 days! Yes, I am still struggling to stay hydrated. I need some accountability and really bring my goal into focus.

That’s it. Oh, contest, right. To be considered for the drawing, enter your goal in the comments below, and enter your results in next week’s Goal Call Monday.  Ssubscribe to my feed so that you don’t forget to leave your results.  You’ll be reminded when Goal Call Monday pops up!

Are you ready? What is your goal in health, diet or exercise this week?

Don't forget to subscribe to my RSS feed and join in the Journey. Thanks for visiting!

Great idea! I am taking today off from running since I have too much work to do and got a good hour of shoveling in this morning (with another hour to go this afternoon.)

My goal this week is to maintain the 50 miles that I ran last week. That means that I will probably be running 10-12 miles one day this weekend and 13-15 the other day, because tomorrow I will be running 6 miles and I will probably only have time for 5 miles each of the other 3 days this week.

I just got back from vacation in California with family and I got out of my healthy eating habits that I was so used to before the holidays came along. I want to get back into my healthy eating this week. I want to have three meals a day and make sure to only go out to eat once this week.

Alright Chicky, you had me at accountability…I am going to run, outside, twice this week! Wish me luck…

I realize this is going to sound lame, but I really don’t exercise anymore. So my goal this week is to exercise just once. Hey, it’s a start!

Way to have your plan organized, Blaine. You’ve thought through the week and are set.

Hi, Mindy! It’s great to hear that your trip was relaxing. Don’t worry the week or so isn’t going to change the habits you’ve established over the last few months. What a great idea to include the eating out as a Goal!

      You can do it, Nap!

CFO–There is nothing lame about adding exercise into your week for one day. That’s more than what 50% of Americans are doing anyway!!! It’s a great start!

Hi Angela, an other year and we would have done the same, but we’re actually keeping our Tree up for the full month of January. We got it up after the remodel Christmas Eve and just couldn’t bring ourselves to letting Christmas go quite yet. The decorations may be out, but the habits and feasting are over.

One of my goals for 2008 is to improve my fitness Cindy. I’ve stated my intention to walk for half an hour at least four times per week as a good starting point.

This (post) is a good idea. I hope it goes well for you and all the participants.

My goals have to do with the whole year, hopefully not just a week. I want to try my best to take better care of myself, to not let so many things upset me. I want to live each day being happy, and not so down on the bad things in life. I want to smile more and take more time relaxing. I have spent all of my married life doing for others and nothing for myself. I think by now, at age 50, I need to stop and smell some roses.

      Hi Robin,

Great goals. I’ll make sure to add your name to contender for next week’s drawing. I look forward to seeing how you do on Monday!
