Reflections on a Year’s Journey

Why This Blog? A Mom’s Perspective” serves as the foundation for Go Workout Mom. I look back on the year and realize that learning to blog was my best motivation to achieving fitness.

In my personal fitness, I went from walking every once in a while to completing a Half-Marathon in 2 hours and 9 minutes. I’m lifting at least three times a week and am getting stronger each month. Body fat is melting away and my eating habits are shifting closer and closer to the healthier side of the food spectrum.

Mentally, I shifted from thinking that exercise is something that I might eventual start doing to “With exercise as a top priority, how am I going to schedule my day around it.”

Professionally, I am helping people achieve their exercise goals and dreams in person and virtually.

Through blogging, I have discovered a whole new world of support and wonderful men and women treading through the same journey of achieving a healthy and fit lifestyle. The art of blogging is complex. At times, it’s frustrating and technically challenging, but on a whole, it has been liberating and motivating.

I have been doing yoga for a few years but not constantly. And I’ve been dying to do a headstand since forever. So this year, I’ve tried everyday and had my hubs support me and give me advice. Finally, last month, I did an actual headstand! I can now do it! I’m so happy! :)

I noticed that when I was at a tourist spot we had to climb up many, many, many stairs and when I got to the top everyone was breathing so heavily and was winded and I wasn’t tired at all and was breathing normally. That was awesome!

Well, I haven’t made fitness progress over the last year! I’ve been pregnant and having a new baby (1.5 weeks ago) but haven’t been exercising. My bad. I need to do better this year!
