The Business of Family Living, The 4 Hour Workweek Applied

    By Cindy | February 19, 2008

Time. We’re all searching for more. With a few tips applied from an entrepreneurial perspective, parents can better manage time. Thanks to Maria at Never the Same River twice, I was given the opportunity to apply The 4-Hour Workweek by Tim Ferris to the lives of parents.

    THE BUSINESS OF FAMILY LIVING

Raising a family is a business where family dynamics are relationships among members and home dynamics are responsibilities to keep the home functioning. Because of the complexities of schedule management, church commitments, school, practices, chores, finances and more, a family benefits from applying successful entrepreneurial systems. The 4-Hour Workweek is a complete system on how to establish a lifestyle through effective use of time. Running a family is indeed a complicated task especially when both the parents are working and still things have to be done at home and outside.
The 4 hour workweek sound interesting even when I have to mention that most of the families I know have a very efficient routine.

Thanks so much for contributing this great post, Cindy. So many moms (and dads!) have a hard time making room for fitness in their schedules. By using the techniques you describe, they can free up the 30-60 minutes they need.

I agree Dora that families find their groove and go with it, but it never hurts to look at life a bit differently. I like looking at how other people do things and seeing if there is something I can apply to our current lifestyle. We do have a system in place, but gaining extra time in the day through our actions is very liberating.

Thanks again Maria. Because of your deadline, I was able to make it happen. Setting priorities makes things happen. When fitness becomes a priority, it’s wonderful to see how we can juggle our time and gain more energy, health and confidence day in and day out!
