Toddler Moment on Exercise

By Cindy | January 24, 2008

I sat down with Asher and Stephanie to read a dinosaur coloring book they got for Christmas. It was their pick and no other book was going to do! It’s one of those activity books mixed with coloring pages, but it did flow like a story. As we were flipping through the pages and talking about the big dinosaurs, I came to a page that just had blocks and scrabbled letters.

Me: Here’s a great mind exercise, buddy.

Asher: An exercise? Like this?

* We’re sitting on the couch and he places his hands in front of him, in a frog like position and sticks his caboose up in the air and squats down again. He repeats this a few more times. *

Me: Oh, umm, that is an exercise! ***Trying very hard not to laugh.***

How do you explain Mind Exercise to a child? Humm, at least I know that they understand what regular exercise is all about!

Heh, that is really funny!

I think using a synonym would be easier for you to explain and for your child to comprehend.

How cute! At least he’s got the idea of what physical exercise is! At his young age, you should feel pretty proud of that.

A three year old can come up with some great observations.
