Week 14: Camping, Oct. 7-13
By Cindy | October 17, 2007
This week has been filled with a couple new adventures. I participated in a Pilate’s class which is decidedly different from Yoga. Ryan worked a Cub Scout camping trip this weekend and we stayed overnight on Saturday. I learned the hard way that we are in need of a new sleeping bag. I should have checked the gear before going out. The weather was great though, and the nice peaceful walks through the woods revitalized the family.
Cardiovascular: Monday, I participated in a nice, leisurely walk around the lake with our MOMS Club. It was a two mile walk in which we were able to get a couple of speed sessions in between my toddlers who liked to get out of their strollers! I also walked on Thursday without the children and we were able to walk about four miles at a good pace on the Greenways along the river. I was able to get 20 minutes in on the stationary bike before Ryan arrived at the Y so that we could take the little ones to the Pool.
Strength Training: I only got one session in this week, but it was a good one. I completed 3 sets of 12 repetitions:
- Leg Extension 80lb.
- Seated Leg Curl 50 lb.
- Leg Press 180 lb
- Hip Abduction 135 lb.
- Hip Adduction 70 lb.
- Pec Dec 35 lb.
- Pullover 60 lb.
- Vertical Chest 60 lb.
Flexibility: I tried a Pilate’s class this week. I don’t know if I can really classify it as a flexibility routine. The use of the body in static holds definitely focused on the core muscles.
