Week 2 in Review: July 15-21

By Cindy | July 25, 2007

As I look back upon the week, I realized that I missed opportunities to incorporate movement into my days.

Movement: 15 minutes walking/15 minutes running on a treadmill; 30 minutes to 1 hour gardening; 1 hour walk; and 45 minute strength training routine.

Nutrition: I ate well-rounded meals with fruits and vegetables incorporated. I partook in a Reunion Dessert feast and had one milk shake. I did not have a dessert everyday of the week (Big Accomplishment).

My journey is on a slow start, but I am focusing on small changes to lead to regular habits.

For the next week, my goal is to focus on my running and strength training routines. Reading Harry Potter took precedent, but I am finished and off to completing my goals for the week.

Incremental steps are key; if you can do something for 30 days, then you will set it as a habit and it will be much easier to keep doing. Setting a 30 day goal is much less daunting than saying you will do something forever here on out, and once you get that 30 days out of the way it is just a matter of keepin’ on keepin’ on…
