Week 22: Memories of Home and Spoiled Grandchildren, Dec. 2-8
By Cindy | December 11, 2007
Filled with home-cooked, comfort foods, I am getting as spoiled as my children. No cooking, dishes or housework is allowed. I’ve been reading and watching way too much television. Suffering from computer detox, I’ve been limited to approximately an hour every other day of internet access at our local library with a little evening remote access. The weather has been terrific. I miss my husband, but everything else has been wonderful!
Sunday: My mom had the day off, so we traveled to Fredericksburg, TX to enjoy the Christmas Festival on the Square. The Christmas tent filled with vendors and a Santa’s Workshop was lots of fun for the little ones.
Monday: The 70 degree weather was fantastic. We spent the afternoon in the park playing on the play escape. I completed calisthenics while the little ones repeatedly went down the slide and climbed all through the great big play escape. 50 Squats, 25 plie squats, 50 calf raises, and 48 walking lunges.
Tuesday: In the house, I completed a 10 minute jump rope circuit (pretending to hold one) and followed the short cardio segment with 50 squats, 3 30 second planks, 25 v-situps, 25 crunches, 24 left/right side bends and 2 rope resistance strength training exercises (3 sets 12 reps): bicep curls and tricep extensions.
Saturday: I ran a 3 mile run around Southwestern University and the old middle school I used to attend near home.
My workouts have been sporadic and more for maintenance than anything else. When I return home, I know the scale is going to be waiting.
