Week 24: House Remodel Completed, Dec. 16-22

By Cindy | December 27, 2007

There’s nothing like last minute project completions, especially before Christmas. We’re not going to move!!! Yippee! Ryan finished the lower living room area with hardwood flooring (we had planned on replacing the old carpet for new when the house was placed on the market. Our remodeling project was started in February and is very close to completion. The major work is done. Now, it’s a matter of completing the little details–like New Furniture (I can dream a little). It looks fantastic. Since we host for Christmas, we had more incentive to take care of the painting and flooring. Plus, Ryan got a good head start while I had the little ones down in Texas.

I was not successful in working out this week. I completed a 30 minute moderately paced run on the treadmill on Tuesday. Thursday, I walked an hour with a friend at a moderate pace. My “extra” activities this week consisted of painting and flooring. I did spend some time on the floor and got a couple of downward dog poses and cat poses in. I did not make exercise a priority this week (or the last few) and I can feel the difference.

I do have one victory to declare! I managed to removed sugar from my coffee!!! This is a huge step for me. I have not put sugar in my cups for three weeks now. I drink about 3 cups a day and I had always put at least a teaspoon of sugar in each cup–that’s a total of 21 teaspoons a week! Yikes. I am declaring it a new habit. However, the holidays have been busy, I’ve been lax and a trip to the scale proved that I’ve put on 3 pounds.

I am excited about the new downstairs area. It’s so open and light. Here are the before and after pictures.
