Week 3 in Review: July22-28

By Cindy | August 1, 2007

This week was full of distractions. Any spare moment I had from Sunday to Tuesday, I spent reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Book 7). I think J.K. Rowling did a wonderful job completing the series. I hosted a dessert party on Tuesday evening in which Moms brought wonderful treats. As for the rest of the week, I prepared for Little Man’s 3rd Birthday Party. We had his cousins over and they had a blast. Of course, I made cupcakes for his playgroup buddies on Friday and then a Race Car Cake on Saturday for the family. With ice cream and cake and birthday treats galore, my resolve for healthy choices this week was a little on the back burner.

However, I did time my first mile in over 3 and a half years. I am definitely not at the top of my game. I am making this a journey of steady, but definitive progress! I ran the mile in 9:51. I was happy to get it under ten minutes. My goal for this first 5k is to run more than walk, and I am confident I’m going to be able to accomplish it! I also walked 2 miles on Thursday and had several housecleaning marathons throughout the week. I also completed My Personal Contract, and 2 strength training routines.

I loved the new Harry Potter. I thought she did a great job with the ending, and I started to suspect about 3/4 of the way in, but it was still a fast fun read.
