Week 5: Slow Times, Jan. 27-Feb 2
By Cindy | February 5, 2008
I took the week off from running. I didn’t exercise Sunday, Tuesday or Friday due to a variety of excuses. However, I spent that time cleaning house. I took my measurements and lost a couple of inches all around. I’ve stayed below the 170 mark over the last two weeks, so my new focus is on the next five pounds and decrease in inches. To make up for my days of no exercise, I doubled up most of my workouts as follows:
Monday: Indoor dumbbell routine mixed with squats and running in place for approximately 45 minutes.
Wednesday: Double Workout completed with 30 minutes on the elliptical trainer followed by a circuit (1set/12 reps) of 15 weight machines.
Thursday: Completed 15 minutes on the Cardio Wave and a one hour Yoga class. I felt like my obliques had stretched out a couple of inches the day after Yoga.
Saturday: I participated in the Y-Box class at the Y. It was awesome with high intensity and constant motion. After the class I completed 3 sets/12 reps of 5 exercises (weight machines).
Nutritionally, I did fairly well. I accounted for my food choices during Sunday’s AWESOME GAME. By making good choices throughout the week, I was able to party a little more on Sunday.

Congrats on the inches you lost. You’re doing well! Good for you.
Those are great workouts you did, too!
It sounds like you have a great focus! I’m trying to take things small and keep the focus narrow otherwise it just gets too overwhelming. Thanks for another great post. I’m looking forward to reading more on your strength training series
Thank you everyone!
