Week 8: Lost My Way, Feb. 17-23
By Cindy | February 26, 2008
I lost my way this week. Emotionally, it was draining and exhausting. I allowed things that were out of my control affect my mood and outlook. By Thursday, I returned to the support of the Healthy You Challengers and reading great Personal Growth blogs to readjust my state of mind. Thank you to all the great inspiration and motivational articles!
Monday and Tuesday Mornings: Heavy cleaning throughout the house. Dedicated two to three hours each day really did replace the workouts. The house has been neglected for some weeks now and I had to do some scrubbing! For me, running and playing with the toddlers is more important than housecleaning, but I do end up having to focus on reseting the house for living every few weeks.
Thursday: 20 minutes light cardiovascular exercises including walking in place, jump roping, lunges, and squats. A full body dumbbell routine with stability ball.
Friday: 20 minutes mixed cardiovascular exercises similar to Thursday’s routine.
Saturday: 40 minute circuit training routine including weights and cardiovascular exercises.
I did not run. Therefore, I’m staying on week 3 Half-Marathon training. I’m out of the rut though and eager to focus my efforts. I’m focusing on the end goal of a healthy lifestyle. “I AM WORTHY!”
Despite a slice or two extra of homemade Lemon Cake, I made good food choices and limited my snacking in other areas of my food intake which resulted in no weight gain. The cake was special because it was the same one we had for our wedding 7 1/2 years ago. I made the cake and my mom decorated then. I attempted a two layer version. It wasn’t as pretty, but the flavor and memories were the same! Yes, I was definitely emotionally attached to the cake.
There were a few NSV (non-scale victory) moments. My husband was hired into a new career as Financial Advisor. He’s found his calling. He loves numbers and has always done well with our finances. Hane.com/Kids contest for $50.00s is still open and going strong. I completed my first set of interviews for Go Workout Mom. I released Holly Rigsby’s great interview about her personal journey as well as the program she’s designed for busy moms. I’m discovering the joys of voice editing/music splicing and preparing a Podcast Interview for release on Thursday with Jennifer Nichole Lee, a mom of two who decided a bikini contest was the way to lose 70 lbs after having two children! These women have amazing stories and motivational knowledge for any one looking to achieve a healthy, fit lifestyle.

Man… things sound full on over there! Im glad you are sticking with your goals and keeping up the exercise. Have a great week.
Oopps… bit of a worry when I cant even spell my own name!
I think it sounds like you are doing great. Everyone needs a little detour once in a while to keep it interesting.
Keep on keeping on!

We all have our dips – the important thing is not pick ourselves up again – Sounds like that is exactly what you did.
Well done!!
All things considered, not a bad week at all. It could have been so much worse. That cake looks dangerously scrumptious!
Way to get back on track!
We all lose our way from time to time… Fortunately there’s always a willing hand to help us up and show us the way again. Well done for pulling it together. That’s a very pretty cake!
wow, that cake looks verrrrry good! And I agree with Cammy, things good have been much worse. (don’t let the Girl Scouts in your house!!)
I’m glad to see you are out of the rut.
and I am super excited for the podcast!
I think once someone decides to undertake a weight loss program, they should accept it won’t be perfect and there will be bad days. The hardest part is not letting a few days turn into a few weeks or a few months off plan.
Congratulations on the NSVs.
Have a great week.
P.S. The bodybrushing is used with a dry shower brush. Hanlie and Fertile Healthy wrote a post about it around two weeks ago.
That cake does look divine. How could you stop at two extra slices?!!
Don’t be so hard on yourself, though. You’ll get back on track soon enough.
Thank you for all the encouragement! I gave lots of cake away! Plus two toddlers do a good job. Although I may have added a couple more bites helping them with their slices!
I really like how real you are.
saying that you lost your way.
SO NORMALIZING as we all do.
often.
