Weeks 37-42: Back to Basics, Sep. 4-Oct 12
By Cindy | October 14, 2008
I am sheepishly bowing my head as I write this post. The end of summer was suppose to mark a slowing down of a very crazy year. Yet, here it is the middle of October and the holiday season is fast approaching. Go Workout Mom has received little attention on my part and the blogging schedule was shot to pieces over the course of the last 6 weeks.
Where does the time go? I can’t make up for the past, so I am looking to the future. I am making changes that will simplify our family’s lifestyle and my commitments. Over the course of the next few weeks, I will be shutting down the personal blog, removing myself from MySpace and doing a behind the scenes revamping of commitments and priorities in managing a blog.
As for my personal fitness journey, I have consistently maintained a strength training routine and cardio workouts–mostly on the elliptical and treadmills. The weather is wonderful and I hope to take advantage of it in some long runs.
Typing from my hometown library computer, I am happy to be back home for a bit and enjoy the growth of our small town. This past week, I drove down to Texas with the little ones. We managed another great trip with only 3 major meltdowns! This is a week off from big workouts, but I do plan on doing a few bodyweight workout routines.
My biggest accomplishment over the last 6 weeks was coming down to a size 8! I bought my first pair of jeans a couple of days ago! The strength training has been my best friend. I haven’t seen much change in the scale, but my body is responding to the different strength training routines. I’m getting closer and closer to a clean diet (well, somewhat), but eating is still my biggest challenge.
As the body changes, my desire to eat clean is increasing. I’m close to the food mental trigger!!!
Over the course of the next few weeks, I plan to return to basics in scheduling commitments and redesigning our routines. Family, personal, work and fitness routines all need to meld and coexist for the balance we need to be happy and healthy!

Congratulations on the single digit size purchase! It is always so exciting to buy new (smaller) clothing!
