Worthy Links for Busy Moms, Dec. 29, 2007

There are some fantastic articles in the BlogHer Headlines (left sidebar). Here’s my favorite of the week: Karly at First Ourselves wrote Creating Body Ease: How to Feel Good About Yourself When You Don’t Love Your Body. Every woman needs to read this article. Did you know that 80% of women want a better body?!

Through my Blogroll, Blaine, author of Run To Win, wrote a great article titled Take Advantage of Your Local Trails. I know it may be difficult for those in super cold weather to take advantage of this tip right now, but for those of us in the South and in warmer climates, this is a great way to spend some chiller days exercising. Take the whole family with you and have a great out door adventure.

Awhile back, Marie at Mommy Community shared an important point about setting up a date with the hubby. We get so busy and forget how important it is to keep the fire alive as a couple.

Holly Rigsby of Fit Yummy Mummy posted an article to remind you why going on a diet is not a good New Years Resolution. She’s part of the Blogamama community, and I also came across her free gift in the 12 Days of Fitness Giveaway. I look forward to seeing what her system has to offer.

Finally, I want to recognize Workout Mommy for being my top traffic source of the week. She has a wonderful site filled with ideas for moms and fitness. Her Move It Mondays and Workout Wednesdays are great reminders to keep us motivated.

Don't forget to subscribe to my RSS feed and join in the Journey. Thanks for visiting!

Cindy,

It may sound funny, but I’m actually enjoying the trail runs just as much if not more now that we have “super cold weather” up here in Maine. Not that it has been super cold, but I have kept up running on the trails once or twice per week despite 3 feet of snow.

It builds some good strength, fighting through it and keeping your footing! Especially when all you have are trail shoes and you are trying to follow somebody in running snow-shoes. (The claw on those things is a great asset on hills.)

Cindy -

You are giving a wonderful gift to all the Moms who read your blog. It can get lonely out there when you are stuck in the house with the kids.

Although I am a grandmother now, I still remember it well!

Thanks for coming over to visit my blog. Please read my reply to you!

It’s the truth, Lisa!

Blaine–Your motivation is inspiring. Running in 3 foot snow?! And here I am concerned about 40 degree weather!

Running in the snow is fun. It’s a lot of work. It builds character. It puts hair on your chest. Okay, maybe not, but it’s fun and gets you in good shape. In fact, I’m out to do some snow running right now…
